What started as a small seed of an idea grew into Roots Run East — a nonprofit storytelling initiative established in 2025 and dedicated to preserving the voices, history, and lived experiences of our community. We recognized that many powerful stories — from elders, neighbors, leaders, and everyday people — were being lost simply because they were never recorded. Roots Run East was created to change that through intentional, filmed conversations and documentary storytelling.
Our work focuses on capturing authentic experiences, cultural memory, and local legacy — not just major milestones, but the everyday journeys that shape who we are. Each interview adds to a growing archive of truth, perspective, and community history.
